An old friend. Life has us in a million different directions trying to keep up with our growing busy families, work endeavors and the pace of life’s ups and downs. She’s had her share of challenges these last couple of chapters. And yet, it seems those times have only resulted in a shinier, more confident, more content, more whole-hearted and all around fabulous human. She set out for updated headshots to invest in herself for a business venture. The time together was full of chatter and catching up. And real conversation about the nitty gritty of life.
Editing these photos, my heart was swelling. Behind every overtired, over scheduled, wife-mom-working gal and master of trying to keep it all together . . . is this beautiful brave soul. In all of us. As this full-of-life smile emerged on my screen through all sorts of expressions, I was drawn to the thought that I wish every kid had photos of their momma laughing and glowing this way. They see this in us. We need to see this in ourselves. And it’s not often that the camera’s focus is on mom, freezing these expressions that offer a glimpse into our whole being, and holding these parts of us for the future. For as she knows too well, someday it’s just those memories that we have to hold close.
the things that excite you are not random.
they are connected to your purpose.
follow them.
